Running the Barossa Half-Marathon

By Victoria WOOD

Let’s soar together! Help me raise funds to keep the Flying Doctor flying.

Help keep the Flying Doctor flying! I’m raising funds so the Royal Flying Doctor Service can respond at a moment’s notice for people living, working, and travelling in remote, rural and regional areas in Australia.

Last year alone, the RFDS reached more than 330,000 Australians with 24-hour emergency retrieval and primary health care. That’s one person every two minutes!

The Flying Doctor is always on call to help and save lives, and that’s why I’m asking you to chip in to and help the RFDS to provide the finest care to the furthest corner.

Go on. Please donate now towards my fundraiser, and let’s see how high our tally can fly.

Introduction

Hi!
If you don't know me my name is Victoria and this year I have set myself the challenge of running a half-marathon. The Barossa half-marathon to be exact.
The race is happening on Sunday 26th May.

I am not typically a long distance runner. I have in the past only run in sprints or very short distances, like less than 5kms.

I am mildly terrified at the thought of running 21.1kms and I am feeling very underprepared but I've set myself the challenge and hope to be able to complete my first ever half-marathon.

I want to use this opportunity to try and raise some funds for the Royal Flying Doctor Service.
Having lived in remote rural South Australia I have seen first hand how much a service like RFDS is needed.
I have seen how great it is what they do and the help they offer to everyone living or travelling in remote Australia.

I know times are tough for everyone and I greatly appreciate every dollar being donated. Every little bit helps!
