Simpson Desert Bike Challenge - 2026

Thanks for supporting me by donating to the Royal Flying Doctors Service.
I'm racing in 40th edition of the Simpson Desert Challenge, a 500km bicycle race over the Simpson Desert that operates as a fundraiser for the RFDS. I appreciate your interest in my self- indulgent endeavour!
The race will be from 29th Sept to 3rd October and consists of 2 stages each day. It is a tough race, so I need to put in some serious training- but that is nothing compared to the challenges faced delivering health services to remote communities.
What I'm doing on my bike or even in my 28 years as a Rural Generalist is nothing compared to the immensity of the support the RFDS provide to remote Australians, not only for emergencies but as a key provider of primary health services to rural and remote Australians.
As a charitable organization, they can only continue through the generosity of people like yourselves.

My impact
So far, my fundraising could help…
Provide a full range of life saving medication such as sedatives, pain relief and antibiotics so the Flying Doctor can be ready for 123 emergency situations.
Send 63 life saving-medical chest to remote communities
Provide one on one counselling to 39 outback Australians during a difficult time
Purchase 26 pieces of equipment that could include ventilators, defibrillators and infusion pumps which are used on board flights
